Major node.js contributors fork the codebase to a new version called io.js

Seems like a lot of drama over at Joyent. Most likely top-heavy management staunching the development cycle has caused key developers to fork the code.

yep - we've been tracking this (mostly from the MS Open Tech side). we are going to stay neutral & out of it for now. we'll keep an eye on the developments and make a call when it's warranted (primarily based on user community demands).
